Dear friends, The Lord Jesus is present among us and within us: all things and all people in the Eucharist. United with him, we wish to offer up a huge “thank you” to the Father for the gift of these days of your Jubilee. It has been an outpouring of grace for the Church and for the whole world! This has been possible through the participation of each one of you. For this, I wish to thank each of you, with all my heart. In particular I am thinking of the two young pilgrims, Maria and Pascale, one Spanish and the other Egyptian, who have passed away in these days. I entrust them to the Lord. I thank the bishops, priests, religious men and women, and educators who accompanied you and all those who prayed for this event and participated spiritually.

In communion with Christ, our peace and hope for the world, we are closer than ever to young people who suffer the most serious evils, which are caused by other human beings. We are with the young people of Gaza, we are with the young people of Ukraine, with those of every land bloodied by war. My young brothers and sisters, you are the sign that a different world is possible: a world of fraternity and friendship, where conflicts are not resolved with weapons but with dialogue.
세상에 우리의 평화와 희망이신 그리스도와의 친교 안에서 우리는 다른 사람들이 저지른 가장 심각한 악 때문에 고통 받는 젊은이들에게 그 어느 때보다 가까이 있습니다. 우리는 가자지구의 젊은이들, 우크라이나의 젊은이들, 그리고 전쟁의 피로 얼룩진 모든 땅의 젊은이들과 함께 있습니다. 사랑하는 젊은 형제자매 여러분, 여러분은 다른 세상 즉 형제애와 우정의 세상, 갈등이 무기가 아닌 대화로 해결되는 세상이 가능하다는 것을 보여주는 표징입니다.

You will be the salt of the earth and the light of the world. You will be seeds of hope where you live, in your families, among your friends, at school, at work, and in sports. You will be seeds of hope with Christ, our hope.

After this Jubilee, the “pilgrimage of hope” of young people continues and will take us to Asia! I renew the invitation that Pope Francis extended in Lisbon two years ago. Young people from all over the world will gather together with the Successor of Peter to celebrate World Youth Day in Seoul, Korea, from 3 to 8 August 2027. The theme will be “Take courage! I have overcome the world!” (Jn 16:33). It is precisely the hope that dwells in our hearts that gives us the strength to proclaim the victory of the risen Christ over evil and death; and you, young pilgrims of hope, will be witnesses of this to the ends of the earth! I look forward to seeing you in Seoul: let us continue to dream together and to hope together.
이 희년 후에, 젊은이들의 “희망의 순례”는 계속되고, 우리를 아시아로 이끌 것입니다. 저는 2년 전에 리스본에서 프란치스코 교황께서 보내신 초대를 다시 확인합니다. 전 세계 젊은이들이 베드로의 후계자와 함께 모여, 대한민국 서울에서 2027년 8월 3일부터 8일까지 세계 청년 대회를 거행할 것입니다. 주제는 “용기를 내어라. 내가 세상을 이겼다!” (요한 16,33) 입니다. 그것은 바로 희망입니다. 우리의 마음속에 거하는 희망, 우리에게, 악과 죽음을 이기신 부활하신 그리스도의 승리를 선포할 힘을 주는 희망입니다. 젊은 희망의 순례자 여러분은 땅 끝까지 이 승리의 증인이 될 것입니다! 저는 서울에서 여러분을 뵙기를 기대합니다. 함께 꿈꾸고 함께 희망합시다.
